Six years ago, in the heart of Philadelphia, a ventriloquist named JokeHouze embarked on a journey to spread joy and laughter. Starting as a puppeteer, JokeHouze, also known as PJ, initially tried his hand at animation, but it wasn’t the right fit. Determined to pursue his passion for comedy, he set his sights on ventriloquism.
Jay Paperz mission was simple: to make people laugh. He dove into the world of ventriloquism, teaching himself by watching countless YouTube videos and enrolling in online classes. Armed with his newfound skills, he began performing and quickly gained traction.
Not content with just performing, Jay Paperz established a business called “I Got Jokes Comedy Show,” booking upcoming comedians from around the world. His vision was to raise enough funds to expand his comedy company into a full-fledged business. Collaborating with artists like Iam Tyrone, Philadelphia Freeway, Tommy To Smooth, Tommy Davis from “In Living Color,” Danny Garcia, and many more, PJ’s reputation as a talented ventriloquist and comedian began to soar.
With the success of “I Got Jokes Comedy Show,” Joke Houze decided to take his entrepreneurial spirit a step further. He founded “Puppetstar LLC,” a platform where upcoming artists and other talented individuals could showcase their skills. His goal was to support as many artists as possible on their journey to success.
Through hard work and dedication, Jay cultivated a fan base of 24k followers on Instagram (@pjisalive), where he shares everything from behind-the-scenes photos to hilarious videos. PJ’s most beloved character, PJ the puppet, whose name stands for “Punchlines and Jokes ,” became an instant hit. With PJ by his side, this Philadelphia native transformed his hobby into a thriving business.
